Line Cooking 101

I loved being a cook. Still do. If I didn’t have this damn crippled leg I would probably still cook somewhere part time that’s how much I love it. It was social, fun, and you usually got to eat for free. My best friend Spoon got a job at the same place on the same day! We walked in together and both walked out with jobs! I started as a dishwasher but moved up to salad prep after about a week. Spoon, on the other hand, started cooking and within a week was promoted to kitchen manager! The guy was that good. Still is! Yep! 35 years later and we are still friends! I talk to him everyday and we see each other at least once every couple of weeks. 082
